Exactly like any type of painting, the success in wearing a perfect facial makeup greatly relies on the tools one uses to apply the colors. Some women are still used to using their bare fingers to apply cosmetics. However, appropriately using makeup brushes will certainly bring you a pleasant surprise.
The most common one among the makeup brushes that should be present in every woman's makeup brush set is the powder brush. It is usually the largest among the set, with the function of evenly applying loose powder on the face. Twirling and upward strokes of this powder brush against the face will help you to avoid uneven caking of the powder on the skin.
A foundation brush has flat but soft bristles and is used to apply cream based or liquid foundation. A soft foundation brush may be naturally made from sable fur, but more often from a smooth, washable synthetic material.
As far as the author is concerned, an ideal blusher blush should have a full head of slightly tapered brushes for even and natural distribution of blush pigments. The small brushes in the blusher cases which are provided by the producers are often too hard bristled that they pick up more pigments than necessary. Too much blusher will ruin your makeup. Naturally blend the blush pigment into the skin tone by upwardly sweeping the blusher blush from the highest point of cheek bone, and then mound up to the hairline.
Concealer brushes are specially made for concealer application. Since concealers are being used to cover and modify skin imperfections such as skin discoloration, pimples, rough edges, and black rims of eyes, they should come in the right form and weight. A tapered square head with flat firm brushes is the appropriate concealer brush to be used under the eye area, in order to conceal the dark contour. Tapered, round brushes on the other hand should be used to conceal blemishes in other facial zones. Concealer brushes should have long brushes, so as to have flexibility in under the eye makeup application; on the other hand, they should have the right weight to place the right pressure without straining the hands. Dab the dark spot with the concealer, using the brushes, and then blend well using precise, short strokes.
A medium sized eye shadow brush is most suitable for a multi purpose function. Use the side part, the bigger part to apply lighter color across the entire eyelid area and the tip edge with heavier color to define the eyelid crease. Do not forget to blend and sweep to achieve a harmonious skin tone hue.
An eyebrow brush will take care of the final touches of defining the brows.
Remember our suggestion: look naturally pretty without the feeling of being too cosmetically or artificially made up with the help of the best makeup brushes. Perfect tools can always help one to get success.
